About us

Garforth bridge club was founded over 30 years ago on 10th September 1975. For more information see the History of the Club. Today the club has around 90 members.

Barwick Cricket Club

Garforth bridge club meets on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at Barwick Cricket Club, Barwick-in-Elmet, starting at 7.15pm.

Table fees £2.00. Visitors £3.00

Club membership costs £15 per year.

Visitors are welcome. Bring a partner or phone Audrey on 0113 2862914 who might be able to find you a partner.

There is a bar at Barwick Cricket Club. Free tea and coffee is available. Expect to play 24-28 boards on Mondays and Wednesdays, 20-24 on Thursdays.

Duplicate bridge is played. On the first Monday or Wednesday of the month there will be a teams event. See the programme of events.

Bridge at Barwick Cricket Club

We use the BridgeMate Electronic Scoring system at Barwick. The BridgeMate provides instant scoring on the evening and also saves a lot of time over manually scoring, and with improved accuracy.

The club is affiliated to The English Bridge Union and EBU master points are awarded.

From time to time special events, such as simultaneous pairs, are held. These are usually on Tuesdays, Thursdays or Fridays. They are held either at Barwick Cricket Club or some other location in Garforth.

League matches are held at Barwick.

Every year a Swiss Teams event is held in September.
